About Bierstadt Lake
Bierstadt Lake sits at 9,417 feet in the Bear Lake Corridor, 1.4 miles from Bierstadt Lake Trailhead. It is a moderate hike with broad views toward the Continental Divide, and it can also be reached by alternate routes from the Bear Lake Road area.
The lake has a different feel from the tight Nymph-Dream-Emerald chain. It is set back in forest and benchland, so the reward is less about a dramatic cirque and more about a quieter water body with long mountain views.
NPS identifies the Bear Lake Road Corridor as the gateway to many of the park's most visited destinations, including Bear Lake, Sprague Lake, and the short hikes toward Dream and Emerald Lakes.
