Dream Lake

One of RMNP's most iconic lakes

Dream Lake, Bear Lake Corridor, Rocky Mountain National Park — 9906 ft elevation

About Dream Lake

Dream Lake sits at 9,906 feet between Nymph Lake and Emerald Lake, 1.1 miles one-way from Bear Lake Trailhead. It is one of the best-known lakes in the park because the trail reaches it quickly and then frames the upper Bear Lake basin in a very recognizable way.

The lake is not remote, but it rewards an early or patient visit. It works as a destination on its own, a stop on the way to Emerald Lake, or a junction point for hikers continuing toward Lake Haiyaha.

NPS identifies the Bear Lake Road Corridor as the gateway to many of the park's most visited destinations, including Bear Lake, Sprague Lake, and the short hikes toward Dream and Emerald Lakes.
