About Peacock Pool
Peacock Pool is a high tarn below the Chasm Lake approach, at 11,306 feet and about 5.5 miles from Longs Peak Trailhead. It sits in the Longs Peak area below the route toward Chasm Lake.
This is not a casual lake stop. Its value is tied to the dramatic terrain above timberline: Longs Peak, steep cirque walls, and the drainage below Chasm Lake.
NPS notes that the Chasm Lake route is exposed for about half of the hike and that lingering snowfields can persist outside the heart of summer, useful context for any lake objective in the Longs Peak area.
