About Twin Lakes (upper)
Upper Twin Lake in Wild Basin is the smaller, crescent-shaped twin sitting above Lower Twin. Reaching it requires considerable bushwhacking beyond the lower lake — most visitors don't make the trip.
No maintained trail exists in this drainage. From Lower Twin, the route continues uphill through dense vegetation; route-finding is on you. The lake sits at roughly 9,900 ft, on the east side of the Continental Divide.
Best paired with Lower Twin as a single off-trail day from Wild Basin. The reward is a quiet, rarely visited shoreline with strong views back toward Copeland Mountain and Eagles Beak.
